In already a big week of news coming out of Historic Holman Stadium, the Futures League announced the 2024 All-Star Game teams for next week’s late July classic in Norwich, Connecticut. Nashua had 10 players selected, the highest total out of the eight FCBL teams. Less than a week from the festivities in the Constitution State, here is a breakdown of the Knights that are headed to the “Rose City”.

Keene State’s Tommy Ahlers has been a name thrown around in the all-star conversation amongst the Nashua faithful all season, getting the nod to be one of three Knight outfielders selected. Ahlers was awarded June Player of the Month across the league as he leads the team with 23 RBI along with a .314 average.

UMass Lowell’s River Hart will bring his power to Norwich on Tuesday, also being a candidate for the Home Run Derby. Hart homered in Brockton last night to bring his season total to seven and take back the league lead. Hart’s 19 RBI is also best for third on the Silver Knights, becoming quite the power threat playing for his hometown team.

Rutgers’ Owen Carey was also selected to be a league all-star, but will not be able to attend due to his recent signing with the Atlanta Braves after being selected in the First-Year Player MLB Draft. The Nashua Silver Knights wish him well with the Braves organization, and you can click here to read more on Carey and this week's draft.

Stonehill’s Nate Kearney and Central Michigan’s Drew Loikits round out the position players headed to Connecticut, being the representatives of the Nashua infield. Kearney currently holds a four-game hitting streak with a .322 average, while Loikits has posted six RBIs in his last three games to add to his 21 RBI total.

Saint Anselm’s Andrew Chenevert leads the way for the five all-star pitchers, making his second Futures League All-Star Game with an appearance in 2023. Chenevert is 4-0 in eight starts with the Knights this season, tossing a shutout in three of those four wins. Colby’s Derek Woods is the other starter to make the team, holding a 3.85 ERA in 30 innings with a 2-1 record.

AIC’s Anderson Cuello Batista is headed to Norwich after sporting an impressive sub-two (2.79) ERA in 19 innings with 11 scoreless outings out of his 14 overall. Rounding out the pitchers nods is the 1-2 punch in the backend of Nashua’s bullpen, with Endicott’s Kyan Bagshaw and Maryland’s Andrew Koshy set to join Chenevert and Batista. Bagshaw holds a 2.31 ERA and a save in 11 innings while in the setup role as Koshy has two saves in 13 scoreless outings.

While 10 Silver Knights are getting set to head to CT this upcoming week, Nashua has a chance to add one more via the FCBL Fan Vote. Assumption’s Mike Crowley is on the ballot for Nashua, bringing a 3.92 ERA and eight scoreless performances to the table.
