Knights Catch Fire, Lineup Posts 13 in Road Win13. A number usually known for bad luck was just what a Silver Knight team needed to turn around theirs. After a 15-10 loss on Saturday, Nashua bounced back with a double-digit performance once again in a 13-8 win in Norwich on Sunday. A six-run fifth and runs in the seventh and eighth helped the Knights pull away from the second-place Sea Unicorns, with seven Silver Knights recording RBIs in the contest. SNHU’s Nater Wachter and Pace’s Ben Tullo led the Knights with two RBIs apiece. Nashua’s pitching, a unit that struggled early in the Saturday loss, came out of the gates strong to start in Connecticut. Saint Anselms’ Andrew Chenevert tossed three scoreless to begin his seventh start of the summer, striking out six in the process. A four-run fourth headlined by Wachters’ two-RBI single sprung the Knights to a 4-0 lead. Norwich, a lineup pesky by design, followed up with two-run innings in the fourth and fifth. Close through the middle frames, RBI singles from Penn State’s Adin Zorn, Northeastern’s Will Fosberg, IONA’s Sean Stephenson, and Tullo let the Knights pull away to a 10-4 lead. Another tough night from Nashua’s bullpen allowed Norwich to get three in the eighth, but a persistent Knights offense closed the door on a much-needed second win on the week. Ending their week on a high note, the Knights will look to use their Sunday success in Norwich in next week's contests with their next two coming against the Sea Unicorns as well. After the league day on Monday, the Knights will be back in Norwich on Tuesday for a 6:30 PM first pitch. |
