Pitching Dogs It Out, Knights Fetch Win 5-1Sunday, June 30, 2024 By: Dan Allison | Silver Knights media relations Trying to chase off a Saturday loss, the Silver Knights were set to welcome in the Norwich Sea Unicorns for a special “Bark In The Park” Sunday afternoon matchup. Saint Anselm’s Andrew Chenevert took the bump, firing a gem to keep Norwich quiet with five innings of scoreless baseball in a 5-1 victory. Behind Chenevert’s boost of an outing, the Silver Knights’ arms matched him with scoreless outings to lock down Nashua’s fourth game of the summer where they held their opponent to one run or less. Saint Anselm’s Jared Reminder made his Silver Knight debut after Chenevert, taking over for his college teammate. Reminder left a good first impression on Holman Stadium with two hitless innings in the sixth and seventh. Endicott’s Kyan Bagshaw and Wake Forest’s Andrew Koshy were tasked with the final six outs, nailing down the victory. For the offense, they did their part in getting the Knights to the finish line with a three-run fourth. Stonehill’s Nate Kearney and Keene State’s Tommy Ahlers led off the inning with singles, causing Eastern Connecticut’s Justin Marks fits as three runs came across on errors and passed balls. Norwich cut into the lead 3-1 in the fifth, but UMass Lowell’s River Hart reintroduced himself to the Holman crowd with a solo shot in the sixth for his sixth of the year. Hart, who missed the last week of play with an arm injury, now has six home runs in 17 games as he still leads the league. Nashua added on one more to wrap up their Sunday, notching their 14th win of the season. Trying to crawl back into the playoff hunt, the Silver Knights will head back on the road on Tuesday for a doubleheader with Westfield following the off-day. |
