In a week that started with the Silver Knights unable to fire on all cylinders, Nashua capped it off with a complete performance on both sides of the ball as they defeated the Road Warriors 5-0 on Sunday.

Saint Anselm’s Andrew Chenevert delivered five shutout innings in his fourth start of the summer, with Keene State’s Tommy Ahlers going 4-5 with 3 RBI from the leadoff spot to bolster the Knights offense.

Nashua’s pitching staff dazzled behind Chenevert’s strong start, shutting out the Road Warriors with the bullpen allowing no hits. Lafayette’s John Milewski and Lehigh’s Liam O’Hearen locked down the middle innings, with Wake Forest’s Andrew Koshy and Endicott’s Kyan Bagshaw shutting the door in the eighth and ninth.

In the relievers' four innings of combined work, they struck out four on just two walks. Chenevert added five strikeouts as well with the Knights staff sitting down the Road Warriors 1-2-3 six times in the ballgame.

Central Michigan’s Drew Loikits and Endicott’s TJ Liponis added two hit days alongside Ahlers, with the Knights putting together an 11-hit day. While poor offensive output hurt Nashua during the week, they have now scored 18 combined runs across their last two games.

Everything was clicking for the Silver Knights on Father's Day, including in the field. TJ Liponis made a great catch in the field to double up the Warriors to end the fourth inning, with Rutgers’s Owen Carey putting the exclamation point on the afternoon with a diving play in right field in the ninth inning.

After an undefeated weekend, the Silver Knights finished off their first winning week of the season at 3-2. Now at 7-11, Nashua will look to continue climbing the standings with a Tuesday meeting with the Worcester Bravehearts.

Worcester and the Silver Knights are set for a 6:00 PM first pitch at Historic Holman Stadium on Tuesday night.
