Knights Win Late Again

(Nashua, NH): The Silver Knights continued their upward trajectory on Friday night, as they defeated the North Shore Navigators 5-4 in a contested game. Dominic Keegan (Vandy Boys) gave the home team the edge late to seal the victory.

The scoring began in the third, as the Navs rallied with two outs. Nashua starter Joe Quintal (Fordham) had cruised through the first three innings, before an infield error stumped the groove. A walk followed, bringing up Logan Bravo (Harvard) who sent a pitch over the left field wall to give North Shore a 3-0 lead. Nashua would answer in the third with two of their own. Max Viera (Northeastern) would walk, Brady Day would reach via error, and Nick Shumski (Merrimack) would double to score Viera. After Jared Dupere (Northeastern) was intentionally walked to load the bases, Keegan drew a walk, scoring Day.

The scoring would subside until the bottom of the seventh, when Nashua grabbed two more to regain the lead at 4-3. Lucas Stalman (Boston College) would walk, followed by a Mike Rounds (UMass) single. Viera would then single to score Stalman. Brady Day would ground into a double-play, but Rounds would score in the midst. In the top of the eighth, Logan Bravo would double with one out, followed by a single from Cam Climo (UMass-Lowell) to tie the game at 4.

The bottom of the eighth would be the deciding frame as Keegan took a 2-2 pitch from Navs reliever Patrick Hannon to left for a solo shot, his 4th home run of the season giving the Knights a 5-4 lead.

Steven Miller (Penn State) picked up the win for Nashua. Going 0.2 of an inning, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and collecting 2K.
