Brockton Shuts Out Knights

(Brockton, MA): Little was clicking on either side of the ball for the Silver Knights as they were shutout for the first time this summer, 15-0 on the road against the Brockton Rox. Nashua only collected two hits in the game.

The Knights were held hitless and without a baserunner until the fourth inning, when Jared Dupere (Northeastern) would single to right field with two outs. Brady Day followed with an infield single in the fifth inning. Knights batters only drew three walks as well. Brockton collected 17 hits on the night, and also scored in all but three innings in the game. Of their 17 hits, there were 13 singles.

Brockton got contributions from the majority of their lineup, with Jacob Studley (Wheaton) leading the way going 4-6 with 3RBI and 2R on the night. Pat Roche (Boston College) chipped in going 3-5 with 3RBI and 3R scored. The biggest inning for Brockton was the seventh, where they fittingly scored seven runs to seal the game.

Nick Sinacola picked up the win for the Rox, his second start against Nashua this season. He was effective, going 7.0 innings, only allowing 2 hits on 2BB and 12K while facing 24 batters. He also threw 66 of his 96 pitches for strikes. Joe Quintal (Fordham) suffered the loss for Nashua after giving up 5R, all of them earned on 6 hits, 3BB and 3K in 3.1 innings. The rest of the Knights bullpen gave up 7ER the rest of the night.

Nashua continues their road swing Friday as they will face off with the Westfield Starfires for the first time this summer at 6PM before finishing the road trip Saturday against Worcester, also at 6. The Knights will return home on Sunday to face the North Shore Navigators at 3PM. Subscribe to the FCBL Network to catch all of the game action (FCBLNetwork.com).
