Knights Dominate in Sweep

 Game 1: The Nashua Silver Knights sent out a new look lineup for Game 1 against the first place Suns. The starting lineup featured 5 incoming freshman, all of which performed. Most notably was Barry Walsh (Boston College) who had a breakout game for the Knights going 2-3 with 4 RBIs. Liam Deegan (Virginia), another incoming freshman, also went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

On the mound was Nashua native, Spencer Bergeron (UMass) who matched the offense's success. After giving up 2 runs in the first, only 1 earned, he followed up with 4 more scoreless innings on his way to earning the victory. Jimmy Fahey (Trinity) and Joe Grassett (Hartford) each tossed a scoreless inning to close the book on game 1.

 

Game 2: Starting Pitcher Evan Christopulos (Bentley) was the star of game 2 as he tossed the Knights first complete game of 2019. He tossed 7 innings of 2-run ball while striking out 8 Pittsfield batters. 

 

The offense kept it rolling right into Game 2 as they put up a 3 spot in the home half of the first innings, largely in part to a 2-run homerun off the bat of Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) Kyle Sandstrom (Charleston Southern), Mike La Rocca (SNHU), and Barry Walsh all registered 2 hits in the ballgame as well 

 

The Silver Knights head into the All Star break at an even .500 and sit just 3 games out of 1st place. They will return to action on Thursday in Worcester
