Just five days ago, the Silver Knights fell in tough fashion to the Rox 6-5 with Brockton walking it off in Nashua’s last trip. But now on the Knights’ fourth trip to eastern Massachusetts, Nashua ensured that they would retaliate. 

Nashua’s offense exploded for an 11-2 victory, pushing their winning streak to three games via their highest run single-game run total of the season. Seven of the nine Nashua hitters posted hits in the eleven-run, eleven-hit performance with four of them putting up multi-hit days.

Back-to-back five-run innings in the second and third for the Knights put the ballgame out of reach for the Rox in a hurry. Along with seven Knights getting hits, seven would also record RBIs in the contest.

Colby’s Brady O’Brien highlighted the box score with a three-RBI outing, giving him four RBIs in his last two games combined. SNHU’s Kyle Lavigne hung two RBIs against Brockton in his second game back with the Knights. Lavigne’s soon-to-be teammate Nater Wachter worked a four-walk night to account for two RBIs and two runs.

While all eyes were on the offensive outpour, the Knights put together a solid night on the bump as well. SNHU’s Trevor Anibel bounced back after a tough debut, earning the win on three hits and two earned runs in five innings. 

Nashua’s bullpen put together a clean sheet following Anibel’s outing, giving up only one hit in the backend shutout. Purdue’s Zach Fletcher, Nichols’s Brandon Metivier, Salem State’s Greg Gentle, and Saint Joseph’s Padraig Mac Seain tossed a combined five strikeouts with all of them getting one frame of work.

After one of Nashua’s most significant wins of 2023 coming on the Independence Day victory versus Vermont, the Knights hit Campanelli Stadium like a hurricane of momentum. Nashua now holds their longest winning streak of the season going into a big homestand versus New Britain and Vermont.

Nashua will now head back home after the quick one-game trip, with the Bees and Knights set for a 6:00 PM first pitch on Thursday.
