FCBL Announces 2021 Schedule
[NASHUA, NH] The Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England has announced the 2021 regular season schedule. The Silver Knights’ eleventh season will open on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
The Silver Knights will begin on the road against the Vermont Lake Monsters in Burlington, Vermont, who recently joined the league after serving as a minor league affiliate for over 25 years. The Silver Knights then host the Worcester Bravehearts on Thursday night, May 27, in a rematch of last season’s Championship Series. The home opener will be Ring Ceremony Night, where the Silver Knights will recognize the 2020 FCBL Championship team. Additionally, this will be the first of seven Thursday night games throughout the season which will once again feature the Thirsty Thursday promotion.
Nashua will host the first two Friday Night Fireworks shows on June 4 and June 18 against the New Britain Bees and the Vermont Lake Monsters, respectfully. The Silver Knights will also host Fireworks on July 9, July 16, July 30 and August 6. Friday night games – and all Monday through Saturday evening games – will begin at 6pm in 2021. Sunday home games will start at 3pm, where Kids Club members can get in for free. Start times for away games can be found on the attached schedule.
The 2021 All-Star Game will be on Tuesday, July 13 hosted at New Britain Stadium with the Homerun Derby taking place the day before. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the New Britain Bees.
The 2021 Futures League will include eight teams: the Brockton Rox, Nashua Silver Knights, New Britain Bees, Norwich Sea Unicorns, Pittsfield Suns, Westfield Starfires, Worcester Bravehearts and the Vermont Lake Monsters. The North Shore Navigators are no longer members of the Futures League. The regular season will now feature 68 games, with 34 home and 34 away. Similar to last season, Mondays will be off days unless make up games are needed due to weather.
The playoffs to determine the 2021 FCBL Champion are expected to begin on Saturday, August 14. Only four teams will qualify for the playoffs, with both the semifinal and championship rounds being contested as best-of-three series. The four teams will be determined by the best regular season records.
Purchased tickets, including season tickets, are available for immediate pick-up in the front office located at Historic Holman Stadium. Season tickets, group outings, suites and flex packs are now on sale by calling the Silver Knights office at 603-718-8883.
