VCU: It was a huge week for the Rams, winning all 5 of their games on the week, 4 of them against conference opponent Davidson. During this winning streak, freshman shortstop Connor Hujsak was an RBI machine. Hujsak drove in 6 runs in 5 games this week, highlighted by a 2-run home run in the series opener against Davidson, his 2nd homer of the year. VCU is now 21-14 on the season.
William & Mary: After being swept by Elon last weekend, William & Mary turned around to give the sweep right back to them this weekend. While improving to 6-6 in the Colonial Conference, freshman catcher Nate Goranson registered his first collegiate hit, an RBI single. Goranson would finish the week hitting .333 with an RBI.
Merrimack: The Warriors had to fight hard for a 3-game sweep of conference opponent Wagner, each game of the series finished in a save situation. The Merrimack arms were once again out to play, highlighted by righty Jake Thibault, who took the ball twice on the week. In his first outing against UMass, Thibault would toss a perfect 3 up, 3 down inning while mixing in a strikeout. On the weekend, Thibault picked up the win against Wagner, tossing 3 scoreless innings and allowing just 1 hit. Teammate Timmy Kalantzakos also saw action in the weekend series, tossing a scoreless inning of his own in game 2. Merrimack is now 8-7 in conference play.
UMass: It was a tough week for the Minutemen, picking up a mid-week victory over Merrimack before being swept by conference rival La Salle. Outfielder Ryan Coleman kept his bat alive from last week, picking up another hit and improving his OBP to .371
#12 SNHU: The Penmen just keep on rolling, now 12-0 in 2021. In their 4 game series sweep of Saint Michael’s, outfielder Alex Kennedy saw action once again. Kennedy registered a knock, an RBI, and drew a walk in his lone start of the series.
Palm Beach Atlantic: The Sailfish earned a series split with Rollins this weekend, moving their record to 8-12 on the year. Shortstop Sean Houck drew 4 walks in the 2 games and came around to score once.
Plymouth State: Lefty arm Noah Wachter had a couple of quality outings this past week. First against Castleton, coming in and striking out the only 2 batters he was asked to face. In his next outing, he would get the start against UMass-Dartmouth. Wachter went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs, and striking out 7. He would get the No Decision on the game. Wachter remains 1-1 on the season, and opponents are batting just .217 against him.
#19 Wheaton (MA): It was a top 25 matchup this weekend as conference rivals #19 Wheaton faced off against #9 Babson. It would end up being a 2-2 split on the weekend, but one of Wheaton’s wins would come thanks to the right arm of Griffin Young. Young went 7 innings in game 2 of the series, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 8 batters. Young is now 2-0 with a 2.08 era.
Salve Regina: The Hawks split their weekend series with conference foe Roger Williams this past weekend, keeping their record at an impressive 10-3-1. Graham Jeffries got the ball once again this weekend, tossing a scoreless inning and striking out 2 hawks.
Endicott: The Gulls won 3 of their 4 conference games against Suffolk this weekend. Nick Perkins got his first at bats of the year and did not waste any time, he registered 2 hits with one of them being a 2-run home run in game 2 of the series.
