Bees Avoid Season Sweep, Take Win at Holman

(Nashua, NH): As the championship series nears, the picture at the top of the standings is

becoming clearer. The Silver Knights fell 6-4 against the Bees on Wednesday. They now sit .5
games behind Worcester for the top spot, and 3 games ahead of Brockton for the final spot
(2nd ).

Offense in this game was primarily limited to a couple of innings. In the 3 rd , Nashua jumped out
to a 3-0 lead thanks to a Nate Cormier (Nichols) SAC fly, Brady Day (Kansas State) RBI-double
and Dom Keegan (Vandy Boys) RBI-single. The Bees answered back in the 4 th , highlighted by a
2-RBI single from Ryan Bagdasarian (ECSU) and a wild pitch from Knights starter Jack Dicenso
that scored Tony Socci (Fairleigh Dickinson).

Next inning, the Bees took the 4-3 lead and never looked back. Danniel Rivera (SNHU) scored on
another wild pitch by Dicenso. In the 8 th , Socci would homer to left-center field to extend the
lead to 5-3. Rivera would get his own solo shot in the 9 th , to finish New Britain’s scoring. In the
home half of the 9 th , Keegan hit his 8 th home run of the season, a solo shot to bring the Knights
within two. That is as close as they would get.

Drew Mead (Marymount) was solid as usual in his start and got the win. He went 6IP, giving up
3ER on 6H, 5BB and 5K. Jake Thibault (Merrimack) got hit with the loss. He surrendered 1ER on
2H in 2 innings. Jagger Duquette (Wagner) picked up the 3-inning save for New Britain.
