Silver Knights Name Jackson as Head CoachAugust 28, 2019 Silver Knights Name Jackson as Head Coach Long Time Pitching Coach, and Former Minor Leaguer to Take the Helm [NASHUA, NH, August 28, 2019] The Nashua Silver Knights have awarded the role of Head Coach to long time Pitching and Assistant coach, Kyle Jackson. Jackson has been with the Silver Knights since 2013 and was instrumental in the two championships won in his time with the organization. Jackson, a former pitcher, has seen great success in his pitching staffs through the years. Most notably, his 2016 pitching staff featured Sean Mooney, Gavin Hollowell, Jake Nelson, and Drew Fischer. All these players contributed to the 2016 championship run and went on to be selected in the MLB Draft. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to make my mark on such a great organization,” said Jackson. “The people of Nashua have been so supportive in my time here and I can’t wait to make them proud in our quest for a 5th Futures League Championship.” On top of Jackson’s success with the Silver Knights, he had an impressive resume as a ballplayer as well. After being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 2001 draft, he pitched in the Red Sox farm system for 7 years, spending the final 2 on the team’s 40-man roster while on the Portland Sea Dogs. “Kyle brings in good energy, professional experience, and a great knowledge of the Silver Knights from coaching with BJ Neverett for so many years,” said Silver Knights GM Cam Cook. “He has always been great to play for and work with, I’m very excited to see what he can do.” Jackson has already begun assembling his roster for the 2020 season, with some assistance from General Manager and former player, Cam Cook. Jackson looks to bring the Futures League trophy back to Holman Stadium for the first time since 2017. |
