Knights Win BarnburnerThe Silver Knights won in an explosive offensive game in Worcester, racking up 33 runs between the two teams. The Knights trailed early in this one, as they entered the 4th inning down 5-0 and still yet to register a hit in the ballgame. However, the game would be turned on it's head in the 4th as Nashua put up 7 runs and then 7 more in the 6th, giving them a 15-9 lead. Worcester would continue to battle back and chip away as they put up 6 runs in the bottom half of the 8th to bring the game all the way back to just a 1 run lead for the Silver Knights. Nashua was able to put up a 0 when it mattered however, as Jack Pawloski (UMass) was able to come in and give 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the save and send the Knights back to Nashua a place higher in the standings.
Every batter in the Silver Knights lineup recorded atleast 1 hit. Ben Irvine (Maryland), Noah Lucier (Stonehill), and Jared Dupere (Northeastern) all had multi-RBI games, Irvine leading the way with 2 hits and 4 RBIs.
The Silver Knights head down to Bristol once again to take on the Blues on Saturday, aiming to get back to .500 and continue the push for a home playoff game. |
