Hearts' Shutout KnightsThe FCBL resumed play on Thursday following the All Star Break. Worcester and Nashua drew eachother once again as it has been their fourth meeting in a week's time. Much like most of the Silver Knight's trips to the HIP this season, pitching prevailed again.
After being no-hit by Sean Babineau earlier this year, the Silver Knights were only able to muster just 3 hits. Jared Dupere (Northeastern), Mike La Rocca (SNHU), and Jack Arend (Bates) registered the knocks for Nashua, none of them coming for extra bases.
The Nashua pitching was very impressive in the loss as they combined to allow just 2 earned runs. Griffin Young (Wheaton) took the loss on the night, going 5.1 innings allowing just 1 to score. Jimmy Fahey (Trinity) went 1.2 innings giving up 1 run as well. Shaun Cormier (New England College) came on in the final inning to toss a scoreless inning of his own and give the offense one last chance to rally.
The offense would come up short in the final inning as the Silver Knights fall to the Bravehearts 2-0. The Knights are now 4 games out of first place and 1 game under .500, they have the chance to make up some ground on Friday at Holman taking on the last place Westfield Starfires. |
