No one could have expected what came next following a Brockton four-run opening inning.

Except for the Knights offense.

In a “flip of the switch” type of comeback, the Silver Knights battled back from a four-run deficit for the second straight game to win their fifth game in their last six. A six-run seventh inning was the dagger in the home victory, giving a packed Holman Stadium a great win alongside their Friday fireworks.

Nashua’s top seven hitters in their lineup recorded an RBI in their third double-digit performance in four games, with Keene State’s Tommy Ahlers leading the column with two on the night. Ahlers now has 33 RBI on the summer, taking over the league lead.

The league leader from last summer, SNHU’s Shane McNamara, also had an RBI in the contest. The four-year Silver Knight now has 93 RBI in his FCBL career, good for third all-time in league history.

Vibes were high in the later inning, but it did not start that way for the red and black. Southern Maine’s Jason Libby ran into trouble in the first, with tough plays in the field hurting the Knights as the Rox held a 4-0 lead.

Nashua was held to one hit in the first three innings, but Brockton’s own miscues in the field came into play in the middle frames. A RBI single from SNHU’s Nater Wachter opened Nashua’s scoring in the third, with the Rox errors aiding a three-run fifth to tie the ballgame 4-4 after five.

On the bump following Libby, Johnson & Wales Ben Fosberg got the ball with the Knights needing excellence out of the ‘pen. In his first appearance of the summer, Fosberg was dynamite in two and ⅓ no-hit innings.

Momentum swung Nashua’s way, and it was only a matter of time before the hit parade began. Four hits in the six-run seventh put the final touches on the win.

Coasting to the win, the Silver Knights now sit at 24-27 ahead of two more matchups with Brockton set for this weekend. First pitch between Nashua and the Rox is set for 6:00 PM on Saturday.
