The Nashua Silver Knights hosted the Worcester Bravehearts on Thursday night at Historic Holman Stadium and dropped a 4-2 decision, unable to overcome a three-run sixth inning by Worcester.
Nashua took a brief lead in the third when Peter Keblinsky (University of Southern Maine) doubled home two runs. Worcester tied it in the fourth on a Jeylem Sepulveda (Louisiana Tech) sacrifice fly before taking control in the sixth. Jacob Malfant (UConn) doubled home two runs, and Benny Hess (Keystone) added a sacrifice fly to put the Bravehearts ahead 4-1 for good. The Knights added a run in the seventh but couldn’t close the gap.
Will Perkowski (Southern NH) started and tossed 4 strong innings, allowing just 1 unearned run. Brandon Metivier (Wheeling University) took the loss, allowing 3 runs in 1.2 innings. Gabriel Fales (Gordon College) and Aaron Forgues (William & Mary) each tossed scoreless relief innings. Joey Hagen (Trinity TX) picked up the win for Worcester, allowing just 2 runs over 5 innings.
The Silver Knights fall to 20-22 as the Bravehearts improve to 21-22. Nashua returns home tomorrow night to host the Westfield Starfires at Historic Holman Stadium at 6:03 pm
