The Nashua Silver Knights hosted the New Britain Bees on Friday night at Historic Holman Stadium and picked up a 4-2 win in a game called due to rain with one out in the top of the ninth.

Nashua drew first blood in the first inning when a Nate Kearney (Stonehill) groundout scored AJ Kolb (Towson) to make it 1-0. New Britain answered in the second on a Danny Rogers (Salve Regina) RBI single to score Jack Kane and a Myles Gythfeldt (Colby College) RBI single to go ahead 2-1.

The Knights retook the lead for good in the fourth when Hunter Troiano (Gannon) singled home two runs to make it 3-2, then added an insurance run in the sixth on a Troiano sacrifice fly to push it to 4-2.

Nigel Cross (Wentworth Institute of Technology) was sharp, allowing just 2 runs over 5 innings to earn the win. Ryan Maiorano (Fairfield), Declan Wilkes (Lehigh), Colten Shaffer (Millersville), and Jameson Dobis (Bryant) combined to shut the Bees out the rest of the way, with Dobis earning the save.

The Silver Knights improve to 11-14 as the Bees fall to 14-10. Nashua returns home Saturday night to host the Norwich Sea Unicorns at Historic Holman Stadium at 6:03 pm.
