The Nashua Silver Knights traveled to Fitton Field on Wednesday night and dropped a 6-2 decision to the Worcester Bravehearts, unable to recover from a five-run third inning.

Worcester broke the game open in the third, scoring five runs on a Mason Bordelon two-RBI double, an Andrew Schmit sacrifice fly, and a Cade Centracchio two-RBI triple. The Bravehearts added an unearned run in the fourth on a Will Kraemer sacrifice fly to push the lead to 6-0.

Nashua’s only offense came in the eighth when Phoenix Williams (Mount St. Mary’s) singled home Hunter Troiano (Gannon), and Williams then scored on a Connor Smith (Gannon) fielding error to set the final at 6-2.

Cam Piwnicki (Brown) took the loss, allowing 5 runs over 2.2 innings. Jackson Pecor (Eastern Connecticut State) was the bright spot out of the bullpen, tossing 3 scoreless innings in relief.

The Silver Knights fall to 10-13 as the Bravehearts improve to 13-10. Nashua returns home Thursday night to host the Lowell Spinners at Historic Holman Stadium at 6:03 pm.
