The Nashua Silver Knights traveled to New Britain Stadium on Sunday afternoon and shut out the Bees 10-0 in just 1 hour and 45 minutes, pushing their winning streak to three games and climbing to fourth place in the FCBL standings.
Nashua wasted no time, erupting for seven runs in the first inning. Peter Keblinsky (University of Southern Maine) drew an RBI walk, Hudson Story (Bryant) singled in a run, Jordan Welch (Stony Brook) added a sacrifice fly, Ben Peterson (Saint Joseph’s) doubled home two more, and Mason Campagna (Penn State) capped the inning with a two-run home run to make it 7-0.
The Knights kept rolling in the second on a Story sacrifice fly, added another in the fourth on a Story RBI single, and Peterson punctuated the scoring with a solo home run in the fifth to set the final at 10-0.
Peterson finished 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and 3 RBI. Story drove in 3 runs as well.
Josh Florence (Stonehill) was outstanding, spinning 5 shutout innings on just 1 hit to earn the win. Michael Cobb (Johnson & Wales) tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief.
The Silver Knights improve to 13-14 as the Bees fall to 15-11. Nashua hits the road Monday night to take on the Norwich Sea Unicorns at 6:30 pm.
