The Silver Knights dropped to 0-2 on the young 2026 season Thursday morning, falling to the Westfield Starfires in a back-and-forth offensive battle.

Nashua jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, scoring twice in each of the first two innings. Hudson Story (Bryant University) opened the scoring with an RBI single that plated Connor Smith (Gannon University), while AJ Kolb (Towson University) added an RBI groundout later in the first.

The Silver Knights added two more in the second inning when Sam Gettinger (Stonehill College) reached on a throwing error, allowing Smith and Noah Stead to score.

Dimitri Skourides (Brandeis University) started for Nashua, striking out three over three innings while allowing three runs. Malcolm Klingler (Northeastern University) followed with two innings of relief, surrendering one run while recording two strikeouts as Westfield evened the game at 4-4.

Nashua briefly regained the lead in the fifth after capitalizing on a fielding error that allowed Gettinger to score and make it 5-4.

Westfield answered in the seventh behind Will Briggs (UMass), who launched his second home run of the game — a go-ahead three-run shot off Noah Durham (Stonehill College). Durham was charged with the loss after allowing four runs in the inning.

The Silver Knights will look for their first win tomorrow night when they travel to face the Lowell Spinners in the first meeting between the two organizations in Futures League history.
