The Nashua Silver Knights traveled to LeLacheur Park on Saturday afternoon and put up 17 runs to top the Lowell Spinners 17-9, with Mason Campagna (Penn State) leading the way with a dominant night at the plate.
Lowell struck first on a Cam Biller (Mount St. Mary’s) two-run home run in the first, but Nashua answered in the second with back-to-back home runs from Campagna and Ben Peterson (Saint Joseph’s) to take a 3-2 lead. The Knights kept the pressure on in the fourth, with Brendan Horne (VCU) homering, Peter Keblinsky (University of Southern Maine) blasting a two-run shot, and Mason Campagna adding an RBI double to push the lead to 9-2 before Lowell chipped away with six runs across the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to pull within three.
Nashua put the game away for good in the eighth with seven more runs. Jordan Welch (Stony Brook) doubled home a run, Mason Wilson (Penn State) singled in another, Campagna launched a two-run home run, and Connor Smith (Gannon) capped the inning with a three-run blast to set the final at 17-9.
Campagna finished 4-for-6 with 2 home runs, a double, and 6 RBI. Smith added 3 RBI and Keblinsky drove in 2.
Bryce McCleland (Fisher College) picked up the win in relief. Nigel Cross (Wentworth Institute of Technology) started and allowed 2 runs over 3 innings.
The Silver Knights improve to 19-18 as the Spinners fall to 15-25. Nashua returns home Sunday afternoon to host the New Britain Bees at Historic Holman Stadium at 3:00 pm.
