The boys in red and white were back on the field today following a tough loss to the Bravehearts in front of a sold-out crowd last night. On this day, the Knights hosted the Norwich Sea Unicorns for a doubleheader at Holman Stadium, aiming to bounce back and take both games.

Game one turned into a thrilling pitcher’s duel, with both teams battling through a tight seven-inning showdown. In the end, it was the Knights of Nashua who came out on top, thanks to a clutch walk-off from third baseman Joe Zorc that sealed a 2–1 victory.

Andrew Chenevert for Nashua and Frank Spirito for Norwich would both go head to head in this one, as they both shoved. Through the first four innings, neither allowed a runner to cross the plate as the game was deadlocked at 0-0.

In the 5th however, the deadlock would be broken as the Knights got traffic on the bases for Zorc. Zorc would come through as he would break the tie with a single to center field. Norwich would respond however as they got to Chenevert in the 6th inning. That would spend the end of Chenevert night as they would call on Brennan Rumpf to escape the jam. Rumpf would strike out a batter before he would walk Anthony Tirado on a bases-loaded walk. Rumpf however would get his last two outs as he escaped the jam keeping the game at 1-1.

The Knights would keep Rumpf in the game in the 7th as he shut the Unicorns down and gave the Knights a chance to win the game in the bottom half of the frame. Zorc would then step up to the plate and come through just like in the 5th as he blasted a walk-off home run to give the Knights a big victory.

Following the game Zorc said that “the ball felt great coming off the bat, it felt great to come through for his team in a crucial spot”. The Knights will now look to game number two where they will look to sweep the day.
