The Rosters have been released for this year’s Futures League All-Star Game at Polar Park, and nine Silver Knights have been selected this year. Josh Florence will also have the chance to participate in the game if he wins the fan vote which is now live on the futures league websit

We will also get a chance this year to see two Knights players in the Home Run Derby in Joe Zorc and Dave Yorke, which will take place the night before the game. Zorc has two key home runs on the season, whereas Yorke has just one on the season, but has massive power.

Players from the Knights are split between Team Hearts, which honors the host team in the Worcester Bravehearts, and Team Smiles, which signifies a nod to the city of Worcester.

Team Herats will feature three Knights: catcher Joey Current, a third baseman in Zorc, and pitcher Rob Gilchrist. Current and Zorc are both smashing the ball this summer, as Current has a .307 average with 19 RBIs this summer. Zorc, the third baseman, has a .259 average and has been great in the field as he is a sure thing at the hot corner. Gilchrist is the last Knight on the team Hearts, and he is second to the Knights in ERA with a 1.35.

Team Smiles will feature more Knights than the other side as they will have Shortstop Patrick Shrake, Outfielders Ernie Little and Cole Patterson, and pitchers Andrew Chenevert, Brennan Rumpf, and Hunter Ward. For Shrake, he is having a great year both offensively and defensively. What sticks out is the average at .395, but he also gets on base as he has walked 14 times on the year. Little, who just came off the injured list, still has team-high stats as he leads Nashua in average at .418, and Patterson, the other outfielder, has been a defensive weapon as he has been able to hawk down a lot of would-be hits in center field.

The pitchers for Team Smiles are also great, as they have the Silver Knights’ ERA leader in Ward, who has been locked down in the bullpen. Rumpf is also another great addition to the roster, as he has been great in his long innings of relief in 11 games. Finally, Chenevert, a starter, rounds out the roster as he has tossed a team high in innings very efficiently for manager Nick Guarino.
