After an electric walk-off win in Game 1, the momentum didn’t carry over into Game 2 for the Nashua Silver Knights. In the second leg of their doubleheader against the Norwich Sea Unicorns, the Knights struggled to find their rhythm and ultimately fell 4–0.

Offensively Nashua couldn’t get going at the plate in this one as the Norwich pitching was great as Matt Wooton went all seven innings earning the win in a shutout victory. Wooton commanded the zone all day and minimized runners on base. The pitching for Nashua was also great as starter James Florence went three innings only giving up a run.

The tides turned in this game in the 6th where Norwich struck against the newly brought-in Mike Crowley. With a few bloop hits the Unicorns had the bases loaded and would strike for three as they blew the game wide open.

Additionally, this game had extra excitement as both bullpens in Nashua and Norwich had a standoff to see who would stop standing last. This started in the second inning and eventually lasted way past the final pitch. Fans and spectators stayed to watch the drama unfold and see who would win.

All in all, it was a great day at the ballpark that was filled with excitement and drama, and the Knights split the day. Not what they had hoped for as they were looking for a sweep however they at least got one to stay two games above five hundred baseball on the season. The Knights will be back in action tomorrow versus the Lake Monsters.
