The Silver Knights were back in action, this time in Vermont for the second game of a two-game series with the Lake Monsters. In the first game, the Knights’ offense erupted for 11 runs, en route to victory.

In game two, however, it was a different story, as the Knights got off to a very slow start. Vermont would take the early lead against Knights starter Tommy Flaherty. Sean McMillan would get the game going, as he singled in the first run of the game. The line would keep moving in the inning following McMillian, as seven more runs would come around to score before the end of the inning. After one, the score stood at 8-0 Lake Monsters.

In the third, the Knights offense would come alive as River Hart stayed hot driving in Ernie Little to put the visitors on the board. The Lake Monsters would respond as they also put up a run in the bottom of the frame. The Monsters would add another run in the 4th to give them a commanding 10-1 lead.

The two teams would trade runs once again in the seventh as Ryan Strand would pick up an RBI for the Knights. McMillan responded in the bottom half of the frame as he hit another homer for the second night in a row. The score following the eighth was 10-2 Lake Monsters.

The Knights would get one in the eighth however it was too little too late as they fell to Vermont 11-3. The Knights were led again by Anthony Grabau in this one as he tallied two hits in the loss. The Knights will be back in action tomorrow versus the Norwich Sea Unicorns on the road.
