Game 1: The boys in red and white hit the road again tonight, making the trek to Norwich for a doubleheader showdown against the Sea Unicorns. After a tough loss to Vermont, the Knights came ready to respond—and Game One brought a mix of highs and lows. Still, Nashua showed grit, bouncing back with energy and urgency as they looked to set the tone early in the twin bill.

The Knights starter in this one was Nate Kelleher-Mochak who has been very solid for the Knights this season. In the first, the Knights’ offense would get going as they looked to support their pitcher. The Knights would load the bases in the first as the first three men reached. James Benestad would then drive in Ernie Little and Anthony Grabau to make the score 2-0 Knights early on. However, the two-run lead was short-lived, as in the bottom of the first Norwich responded by putting up a run of their own.

Norwich would go back to work in the second as Jake Bryne would hit a triple driving in one to tie the game. Following Byrne’s triple two more runs would come across to score in the inning making the score after the second 4-2 Norwich. There were no runs again until the seventh in this one as the Knights’ bullpen arm Rob Gilchrist locked in. He tossed three straight innings of no-run baseball to give his offense the time to get back in the game.

The fireworks would not come though for the visitors as Norwich pounded on the runs in the 6th inning of this one. They would score four in the inning on their way to the victory. The final in this one was 8-2 Norwich.

Game 2:

Following a loss in the first game of the doubleheader, the Knights of New Hampshire entered game two aiming to avoid a three-game skid. With a chance to earn a split on the day, this matchup took on added significance as Nashua looked to right the ship and regain momentum midway through their road trip.

In the bottom of the first inning, the home team got going early as they would draw blood in the first against Knights starter Justin Dressler. Dressler would get out of the inning however after 2 and ⅔ his day would be over as he would allow two more runs to come across to score in the third marking a 3-0 Norwich lead.

The Knights offense never really gained traction in this one as they would have just three hits all game. Two of them would come off the bat of Patrick Shrake as he got back on track in this one. Norwich would score two more in the 5th as they pushed their lead to five and they would hold that till the end of the game. The final in this one was 5-0 Norwich. The Knights will be back in action tomorrow again on the road versus New Britain.
