Less than a day after Nashua was silenced at home by the New Britain Bees, the Silver Knights marched down to Connecticut to return the favor on Saturday in a dominant 7-1 win.

Nashua packed their bats for their second road trip of the season, posting seven runs and 12 hits after a week where offense came at a premium. Eastern Connecticut State’s Dylan Scudder, who tossed a shutout win in Nashua on opening weekend, did not find the same success this time with the Knights getting him for three runs on seven hits in six frames.

Penn State’s Adin Zorn stole the spotlight in a four-hit night, posting two RBI and coming across to score twice. Zorn now has hits in four of his first five games as a Knight with the Pennsylvania product being responsible for six runs in his last two appearances.

A Silver Knights’ heart of the order, that only posted five hits combined in their last two games, came to play in New Britain with six hits while accounting for four runs. Keene State’s Tommy Ahlers and Lehigh’s Andrew Noone put together two-hit days with Ahlers notching his third RBI of the summer.

Pitching also helped Nashua get to the finish line, putting together a complete game as a ballclub. Colby’s Derek Woods earned the win after five solid innings on five hits and only one earned run.

Colby’s Tom Rioux and Endicott’s Kyan Bagshaw dominated out of the bullpen, combining for five strikeouts and just one hit in four innings of work. Rioux continued his elite start to the summer after excellence against Brockton on Tuesday, while Bagshaw sealed the deal in the eighth and ninth in his first appearance of 2024.

A huge performance for road win #1 on the season was the perfect way for the Knights to answer a 9-0 shutout loss, getting their revenge on the Bees in a hurry. Nashua will look for the same success when they head to Worcester for a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

First pitch of game one between the Silver Knights and the Bravehearts is set for 2:00 PM.
