It was another night of Futures League action as the Nashua Silver Knights traveled down to Norwich, Connecticut, to take on the Sea Unicorns in a crucial matchup for both clubs. With each team battling for position in the standings, the stakes were high. Despite a strong effort from Nashua, the Sea Unicorns pulled ahead late and held on for a narrow 6-4 victory.

The Silver Knights would start this game off slowly, and it did not get better In inning number one Norwich went to work. They would get three runs in total in the inning as they got to Nate Kelleher Mochak who only lasted one inning in the loss. The Knights however would respond as they always do as they looked to climb back in the ballgame.

In the 2nd the Knights would get one on the board as River Hart doubled to the gap to score a run. The Knights however would allow a run in the bottom half of the inning as the Norwich lead climbed back up to three. Norwich would also grab another run in the bottom half of the 4th to make this game 5-1.

The Knights’ offense which was slow to start the game along with the pitching staff would win the rest of the ballgame. They capitalized in the 4th,5th, and 6th innings as Cole Patterson would drive in a run in the 4th. Hart would add on in the 5th with his second RBI of the game and then Patrick Shrake would double in the 6th to put up Nashua’s fourth run of the ballgame.

The Knights did great in the second half of this game however the pitching was not there at the start and the offense could not bail them out. Brennan Rumpf pitched great out of the pen as he went five innings of no-run ball keeping the Knights in the game. Hart also had a bounce-back day as he went 2-2 with 2 RBI. The Knights will be back in action tomorrow as they look to get back in the win column.
