In game number two of the double header, the Nashua Silver Knights continued straight where they left off in game one as they rolled their way to another big victory over the Starfires 9-3.

 

The Knights’ offense and pitching were again both great and it would all start with Scott Longo and Josh Florence who held the mound for the Knights in this one as they combined for five innings. Longo would give up the lone run on a home run in the first inning. He ended his day in the middle of the third inning.

 

The bats also were still hot as the day went on as the Knights would draw second in this game however capitalize in a big way. With the bases loaded in the first inning, Jake Haarde would ground into a double play however a run would score making it 1-1 Knights. They would continue as Nigel Sebastianella singled in another run to make the score 2-1 after one.

 

The offense would keep pounding in the third as Haarde would drive in two more runs for his second RBI in game two as he continued his scorching hot day. Then Jack Kidwell would also come through with a single of his own as he added onto the Knights’ lead making the score 5-1 after the frame.

 

In the top of the 6th however, the Starfires would rally as they were able to plate two runs as they looked to make the game competitive however Mike Crowley did a great job of getting out of the jam. Nashua and Crowley stalled the run there and got their bats going again. In the bottom half of the frame, they kept pounding as Joe Zorc would single in two runs. Then Sibastianella would also single as he drove in two more runs to give the Knights a 9-3 lead and put this game out of reach.

 

The Knights on Tuesday completed their goal as they beat the Starfires twice. Bot games they offensively exploded and the pitching was great and they will look to continue that as they look to make a push to climb into second place in the Futures League Standings.
