After a heartbreaking loss last night, the Nashua Silver Knights hit the road for Worcester this evening in a regionally televised game on NESN. The Knights, who have had a rough go of it as of late, were looking to get back in the win column and upset the best team in the league on the road.

The Knights and Bravehearts would go back and forth all night, as the two squads had all year; however, only one could be victorious. The Knights would start the game off hot; however, it would go all downhill from there as the Bravehearts slammed Nashua’s pitching on the way to a 10-1 victory.

Nashua would strike first in this ballgame as they were able to get the bases loaded in the first inning with a few hits and a walk. However, they were not able to fully capitalize on this opportunity as they would get one run in on a walk and then turn into a double play to end the inning.

Following the Nashua run in the first, it was all Bravehearts, and they used a big 4th inning to pull away in this one. In total, in the frame, the Hearts batted around and were able to pound out seven hits. This would lead to six total runs in the inning as they pushed this one out of reach.

The Bravehearts would add on more late in the 7th to score their tenth run of the ballgame. Nashua, however, would rally in the 9th as they looked to make an improbable comeback, but they were only to get one run in again as they missed out on their bases-loaded opportunity.

Kaleb Woodard, Casey Wensley, and Wyatt Hoffman would lead the Hearts as they all had two hits and two runs batted in on the day. Nashua’s offense would be at a standstill for most of the day, as they had two rallies in the 1st and the 9th. They were led by Ernie Little, who had two hits on the day.

The Knights will be back in town tomorrow as they look to get back on track. It will be a big night at Holman Stadium with Monkey Boy returning and loads more. First pitch is set for 6:03 PM versus Vermont.
