The Nashua Silver Knights hit the road Friday night to begin a long stretch of seven games in just eight days, all on the road. With a season-long seven-game losing streak hanging over them, the Knights were looking to right the ship and get back on track against the Norwich Sea Unicorns.

Nashua battled hard in this one, staying competitive throughout, but ultimately came up short once again. The Sea Unicorns of Norwich edged out the Knights in a close 4–2 contest, extending Nashua’s skid to eight straight losses.

Scott Longo would get the start for Nashua as he looked to get them out of their slump. The lefty would throw well through his first four innings; however, in the 5th, he ran into some trouble. Longo would let up two runs to Norwich as he was yanked from the game. He would log 4 ⅔ IP on 2 ER and 2 H. Nashua would get a run in the top half of the 6th to cut the deficit to just one.

The following inning for the pitching staff was not much better for Nashua, as they would let up two more runs as the bullpen came into work. The score following the 6th inning was 4-1 Sea Unicorns.

Nashua would get one more run in the 9th as they tried to rally; however, it was just not enough in the end, as they would fall for an 8th straight time, losing 4-2. Nashua was offensively led by Patrick Shrake, who went 2-5 on the day. For Norwich, their offense would be paced by Charlie Walsh and Clay Hartje, who both went 2-4 on the day. The Nashua pitching was great in this one, minus the 5th and 6th innings, where they ran into some trouble which ultimately was the difference in this one.

The Knights will now look ahead to tomorrow as they will look to write the ship and get back to their winning ways.
