Nashua, NH – It was a homecoming for the Silver Knights as they returned to action at Holman Stadium, taking on the Worcester Bravehearts — the top team in the Futures League by record.

The Knights would battle hard in this contest; however, they fell again, losing by a score of 10-2. Worcester used big innings in the 3rd, 6th, and 7th to propel them to a big victory. Pitching, for Nashua, they would go through five pitchers in the loss. Nick Willand would be their star on the mound; however, as he was able to toss 1 ⅔ innings for manager Nick Guarino while only giving up a run. Willand, who started the season as an intern for the Knights, has proved to be one of their more reliable arms in the back half of this season.

Worcester would bring the bats, especially in the 6th inning, and in that frame, they would tally four runs on three hits. The Knights managed to escape a bases-loaded jam, limiting the damage to just four runs. Nashua would also score one in this frame as Charlie Criscola would drive in Patrick Shrake to give them their first run of this ballgame.

In the 7th, the Bravehearts would tack on three more on two singles by Brayden Cali and Ryan Keating. This pushed the lead over the top, as by the end of the frame, their lead swelled to nine runs. Nashua would tack on one more in the 9th as Jayden Hamilton would drive in Jack Kidwell; however, it was too little too late as the Knights fell again.

The Knights will now look to salvage the last few games of their season as they look to finish on a high note. They will have two remaining home games, with one coming tomorrow night against Westfield and the other coming on Saturday night versus Vermont.
