DPHCS to offer free COVID-19 vaccinesThe Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services (DPHCS), Greater Nashua Public Health Network is offering free COVID-19 vaccines at the Silver Knights baseball game on Thursday, June 17, 2021. The Silver Knights play at Holman Stadium located at 67 Amherst St, Nashua, NH 03064. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the game begins at 6 p.m. Anyone who gets vaccinated will receive a free ticket to the June 17th game and a free hat. The Nashua DPHCS will be administering the single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older, and the two-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 12 to 17 years old. The Pfizer vaccine is reserved for children ages 12 to 17 because it is the only vaccine authorized for that age group. Anyone receiving the Pfizer vaccine will receive information about how to receive their second dose. “Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is an important step our community can take to end this pandemic and get back to the moments we missed. The vaccines have been shown to prevent illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19,” said Patricia Glastetter, RN, Nashua DPHCS Public Health Nurse. Registration for a vaccine at the game is encouraged. To register, visit vaccines.nh.gov, click register now, complete the required fields, then search for the zip code 03060 and choose Holman Stadium for the clinic location. Walk-ins will also be accepted. “From the start of the pandemic, Nashua has done a fantastic job, and we want to help continue that trend. As things return to normal and people return to work, it’s not always easy to find time to get vaccinated,” said Cam Cook, Nashua Silver Knights General Manager. “We’re hoping that an evening at the ballpark will provide an appealing time slot and bring a little bit of fun to the vaccination process.” If you have any questions, please call 603-589-3456. |
