Knights End Week on High Note

 

(Lynn, MA): ‘Road warriors’ is fitting of the Silver Knights this summer, as they once again handed North Shore another loss, by a score of 10-4. Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) was named FCBL Player of the Night after going 4-5 with a HR and 3RBI.


The Knights got the scoring going in the first with two outs. After Nick Shumski (Merrimack) was hit by a pitch, Dom Keegan (Vandy Boys) hit his fifth home run of the season, tying him with teammate Jared Dupere (Northeastern) for the league-lead. In the third with two outs, Jones hit a 2-RBI single, scoring Brady Day (Kansas State) and Keegan. Next inning, Mike Rounds collected an RBI when he scored Ben Rounds on his groundout to second base. John Mead (Franklin Pierce) would get in on the action in the fifth, singling and scoring later on a Lucas Stalman (Boston College) single. 


Fast-forward to the ninth, Jones continued his hot night with a solo home-run to lead off the inning. Stalman would double to left before Mike Rounds (UMass-Amherst) hit his first home run of the season, the third for the Knights on Sunday. The Navs would finally get something going in the bottom of the 9th. Three straight singles would score Jack Whorf (UMass-Amherst). A Ryan Cervone (Northeastern) SAC fly scoring Jake McElroy (Holy Cross). Ben Malgeri (Northeastern) and Dylan January (Franklin Pierce) would score on a Juan Martinzez (NMJC) triple to finish off the Navigators offense for the night.


Both starters took decisions in this contest. Jack Dicenso (Nichols) was solid with 5.0IP, 2H, 3BB, and 2K. Gavin Sullivan (Stetson) took the loss for North Shore. He went 3.2IP, and gave up 5 runs on 5 hits, 3BB, and 2K. Shaun Cormier (NEC) was tagged with the only runs (4) from North Shore. The Nashua bullpen overall was solid again for the road team, as they maintain the second-best ERA in the league (4.71).  


The Knights record moves to 12-8 overall and they return home on Tuesday to face the Bravehearts at 6PM then travel to Lynn once again to face the Navs on Wednesday at 6PM.
