Nashua Takes Down WorcesterThe Worcester Bravehearts came to Holman Stadium on Thursday for the front end of a 2-game, 2-day set in Nashua. The Knights turned it around from their last game both offensively and defensively. The offense was led by Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) who went 2-3 and had 4 RBIs, bringing his season total to 30 before the All Star Break has even begun. Luis Atiles (New England College) also registered 2 hits as he has brought his season average up close to 60 points in the last 2 weeks.
The pitching was key for the Silver Knights as Cooper Anibal (Endicott) bounced back from his prior start to give 5 strong innings only giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Kyle Skidmore (Hofstra) was the first out of the bullpen in his first outing with the Silver Knights since his run with the 2016 Championship team. Skidmore went 2 innings in relief, allowing just 1 run. This set up the ballgame for Jimmy Fahey (Trinity) to come in and get the final 6 outs of the ballgame to finish off the 7-3 victory over the rival Bravehearts.
These two teams will see eachother again less than 24 hours later back at Historic Holman Stadium. The Bravehearts sit 1.5 games ahead of the Silver Knights in the standings heading into the rematch. |
