Knights Sweep HeartsSilver Knights Take Two at Holman Come back from 6-3 deficit in final at-bat to sweep Worcester and get back to .500
Nashua, NH: Mike La Rocca (SNHU) scored on a wild pitch, after a wild final inning unfolded as the Nashua Silver Knights came back from a 6-3 deficit to sweep the Worcester Bravehearts on a very hot, very muggy day/night double-header at Holman Stadium.
After a convincing 15-2 victory in Game 1 of the doubleheader, Nashua needed every last opportunity to complete the sweep in Game 2 as they clawed back in what may very well be a major turning point in their FCBL season.
Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) continued his assault on FCBL pitching by going 2-3 in the night-cap with an RBI, raising his average up to .360. La Rocca drove in 2 RBI in addition to scoring the game-winning run.
Game 1 of the double-header was a very one-sided affair, with Nashua hammering out 16 hits over the course of 9-innings. Leading the team were Jared Dupere (Northeastern) 4-5, HR (5), 4RBI, 4R, Luis Attiles (New England College) 3-5, 3R, and Jones 3-5, 2RBI, 2R.
The Silver Knights look to continue their winning ways as they travel back to Worcester tomorrow for a 1pm game. |
