Knights Swept in DHThe Silver Knights took on the Starfires in Westfield this weekend for make-up double header. Two, 7-inning games in which the Starfires emerged victorious in both.
Game 1 - Dan O'Conner was on the bump for Nashua in a pitcher's dual. O'Conner gave up just 2 runs in his 4 innings, but that would be enough for the Starfires as starting pitcher, Chase Jeter, was able to shut the Silver Knights out for 6 innings, setting up Butz for the save. George Welch also tossed 2 scoreless innings for the Knights. Nashua had 5 hits in the 2-0 Loss, none of them went for extra bases.
Game 2 - Nashua native, Spencer Bergeron took the mound to help the Knights bounce back in Game 2. The Silver Knights bats scored one early, thanks to an RBI single from Mike La Rocca. That would be all the Knights could muster up however, as Westfield starter Gallagher threw a complete game allowing just the 1 run. Bergeron had a quality start as he went 5 innings allowing just 1 run. Kyle Sandstrom also registered 2 hits in the 8-1 loss.
The Silver Knights will head to Bristol on Monday to face the Blues, looking to snap a 4 game losing streak. |
