Blues Shut Down KnightsNashua, NH: Starting pitcher Daniel O’Connor (Maryland) pitched well enough to keep the Nashua Silver Knights (11-10) in the game, but unfortunately it was on a night where the offense couldn’t seem to get things going. O’Connor ended up going 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs (2 earned), walking one, and striking out 7.
The only offensive threat for the Knights came in the 6th inning when Jared Dupere (Northeastern) drove in Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) with an RBI double, his 14th RBI on the season. Later in the inning, Liam Deegan (Virginia) drove in Dupere with a two-out RBI single.
Outside of the 2-run outburst in the 6th, the Bristol pitching staff limited Nashua to two hits and 4 BB’s.
Bristol tacked on 4 additional runs against the Silver Knights bullpen, in a game where the Knights never led.
Nashua has a day off on Tuesday (6/25), then they’re back on the road Wednesday, as they head to Westfield to take on the Starfires (6-15) for a 6:30pm start. |
