Knights Shutout WestfieldThe Westfield Starfires came into Nashua for their first matchup against the Silver Knights since joining the Futures League. The Silver Knights took care of business largely in part to the pitching performances by Evan Christopulous and Josh Roberge. Christopulos came out of the gates throwing up 5 straight zeros, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 5. Roberge picked up right where his starter left off, tossing the final 4 innings and completing the shutout for Nashua.
The offense was productive as well, 7 of the 9 Silver Knight starters all registered base hits. Kyle Sandstrom lead the way with 2 rbis.
Thomas Joyce and Bryce Walker returned to Holman Stadium, but this time wearing the Westfield blue and white. Joyce and Walker were both a part of the 2017 Silver Knight Championship team.
The Knights head to the North Shore again tomorrow to take on the first place Navigators. A win will bring Nashua back to .500 on the young season. |
