The Nashua Silver Knights hosted the Lowell Spinners on Saturday, May 30th, at Historic Holman Stadium in a game that was halted in the seventh inning due to a power surge and officially called on June 5th, with Nashua taking the win 11-1.
The Knights got going in the third inning when Hunter Troiano (Gannon) scored on a stolen base attempt by Phoenix Williams (Mount St. Mary’s), then broke the game open in the fourth with three runs. Troiano doubled home Robby Grasso (Lehigh), and Connor Smith (Gannon) reached on a Spinners error, plating two more to make it 4-0.
Nashua kept building in the fifth and sixth innings, getting RBIs from Noah Stead (U.S. Naval Academy), Robby Grasso, Nate Kearney (Stonehill), and a two-RBI single from Ben Peterson (Saint Joseph’s) to push the lead to 10-1. Kearney capped the scoring in the seventh with an RBI triple, making it 11-1 before the game was called.
Nigel Cross (Wentworth Institute of Technology) started and worked 4.2 solid innings, allowing just one run. Michael Cobb picked up the win in relief, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings.
